A storage stool that rocks or wobbles is usually dealing with one of three issues: the floor slopes, one leg is slightly shorter, or the adjustable feet aren’t set evenly. The good news is most stools can be leveled in a few minutes with simple tweaks.
Look at the bottom of each leg. Many storage stools have threaded leveler feet (a small foot pad that screws in and out). Others use screw-in glides, press-in caps, or fixed legs that need felt pads or shims. If you see a visible threaded stem or a nut, you have adjustable levelers.
Place the stool where it will live and empty the compartment so weight doesn’t shift while you adjust. Gently rock it to identify the “short” corner (the one that lifts). If your stool has threaded levelers, turn the leveler on the short corner counterclockwise to extend it a little, then re-test. Make small changes—about a quarter turn at a time—until the wobble stops.
If your levelers have lock nuts, tighten each lock nut against the leg once the stool is stable. This keeps the feet from drifting over time, especially on tile or hardwood.
Once the stool sits flat, confirm all foot pads make contact and the seat feels solid when you sit. If the feet are hard plastic and the stool slides, add stick-on felt pads sized to the foot pads (or swap to rubber leveler feet) to reduce movement and protect flooring.

Use stick-on felt or rubber pads to build up the shorter leg, or add a thin furniture shim under the low corner. For a cleaner look, stack two thinner pads rather than one thick pad so it stays stable.
